Single-Ended MC Step-Up — Heritage Implementation
EQVES Model 1 is a compact single-ended MC step-up transformer, representing the most direct implementation of the Heritage approach.
It preserves signal continuity through a minimal magnetic topology and a shortened signal path, allowing the cartridge to interact with the system without structural intervention.
Concept
EQVES does not extend the signal into a differential architecture.
Instead, it maintains a simple and coherent magnetic structure, where the behaviour of the transformer
remains closely coupled to the cartridge itself.
This results in an immediate and continuous musical presentation.
Magnetic Implementation
At the core of EQVES Model 1 is a classic transformer based on Tamura Corporation design principles, utilizing a high-permeability core material for wide bandwidth and low distortion behaviour.
Rather than redefining its character, the implementation preserves its native magnetic response within a controlled environment.
Mechanical and Shielding Design
The transformer is housed in a compact all-metal enclosure with multi-layer shielding.
Particular attention is given to:
- suppression of external electromagnetic interference,
- stability of the magnetic field environment,
- reduction of parasitic interactions within the enclosure.
The internal layout is simplified to maintain signal integrity and avoid unnecessary structural complexity.
