fonolab develops transformer-based signal interface systems for analogue playback.

True Balanced Architecture is not an additional feature of selected products - it is a core transformer design methodology. Signal symmetry is established and maintained within the magnetic structure itself, enabling balanced operation at the cartridge interface without relying on active differential circuitry.

The product range includes MC Step-Up Transformers for moving coil cartridges and MM Interface Control Stages for moving magnet cartridges. While their functions differ, both are designed around the same objective: controlled transfer of low-level analogue signals through precisely engineered magnetic structures.

This approach allows key system parameters - including channel symmetry, grounding behaviour, cartridge loading interaction, and noise rejection - to be addressed at the transformer stage itself.
